December is the month of happenings ... the biggest event so far this month was Youth Alive Malaysia's H.U.G.E. Camp 2006.
H.U.G.E. stands for "Have U Got Enuf". This year's H.U.G.E. was aptly themed "SOLD". The point is: "Are you sold to the world, or all sold out for Jesus?"
From December 11 to 14, the Melaka Watercity Resort in Ayer Keroh was the place where hundreds of young people from around Malaysia gathered to sing praises and have fun together.
The campsite was really spectacular. The wooden galley above is a replica of a Portuguese ship during Malacca's colonial days. The resort is surrounded by a huge man-made lake. Getting to and fro the resort lobby and my apartment could not be better than crossing a rope suspension bridge that hung across the lake. We can even go kayaking and go-karting during free times !!!
This is the latest style of ushering people into the hall. Get ready to bend your body and enter the tunnel ! More like a mouse entering a mouse hole. :)
Imagine for every night there, we had a totally exhilarating concert! The worship led by the Psallo Band from Indonesia was simply awesome! We were truly mesmerized by their performance. ...Jump ! Jump ! Jump !
2nd day: Good morning everyone...
The main speaker was Rev. Mike Pilavachi from England, who also founded a youth organization called Soul Survivor. And he was always humorous, jovial and cool...
The pastors including Ps. Clement Wong and Ps. Julie Khoo (from my church) showed many good talents. Rev. Mike tried to sing a Beetles song, Ps. Julie danced her way on stage, cheered by all campers alike LOL!
Me and the Botswanians
"Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head." (Matthew 8:20) Huh??? Yes, it was the most entertaining sermon throughout the camp !
To be continued...
